An Open Letter to My 21-Year-old-self

Hey You! I simply wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. I appreciate your perseverance throughout your season. I appreciate your clinging to God. Thank you for blossoming into such a stunning woman both inside and out. I appreciate your daily efforts to better oneself. I appreciate you not giving up. You will turn 22 in 8 months, and at that time, I think you will still be carrying all the lessons you have learnt thus far in life.

Simply said, whatever is worrying you is in God's hands, therefore you don't need to worry about it any longer. I simply want to remind you that the God you serve is one who keeps His word. When He promised to offer you a bright future, He actually meant it. You are already moving toward the great life you will have. You are in your third year of college; let me remind you that you have nothing to prove to anyone or impress anyone with. God will take care of the rest; just do your best. No matter where you are or where you go, God will always grasp your hands. He'll be there to support you. You won't be abandoned by God, and He still loves you. Although the seasons may change, God's love for you never changes.

You have God to thank for all of your strength, and I am so proud of you. Even though you may not feel deserving of his joy, he is overjoyed with you. God may have been hurt by what you did, yet He is still patient with you and eagerly awaits your return.

I simply hope that you won't forget God when you finally have the future you've been longing for. How could you ever forget the person who set you free? Still, God is your greatest accomplishment. God is still your reward even when you receive an honors degree, travel to several countries, wed the love of your life, give to your parents, have children, acquire a home and land, a car, a business, etc.

Thank you for doing your best. I believe in what you can do with God.

Love,

Aly
